In Australia, Asia & New Zealand, we are looking for those who are
WNBF AUSTRALIAN TEAM SUCCESSFUL IN NEW YORK LAST YEAR!! "The Bodyroos have returned home triumphant from the WNBF World Championships!! We have three (3) new World Champions in David Barry (Masters Bodybuilding), Asher Dobson (Womens' Fitness) & Gwen Carbone (Women's Overall Bodybuilding). A BIG congratulations to them!! Others who also performed magnificently including Ellena Tsatsos (Ms Figure World Runner-up), David Barry (3rd in Men's Bantamweight), Wendy La Rouche (3rd in Ms Fit Body - Tall Class), Nancy Waites (4th in Ms FitBody - Tall Class), Ellena Tsatsos (4th in Ms Fit Body - Short Class), Deanne Murphy & Tracey Taylor (placing 5th respectively in their height classes in the Pro Natural™ Figure divisions) & Paul Valentine (4th in the Men's Middleweight). Danny Du, Luke Morrissey & Jennifer Miller was up against a formidable Pro Natural™ Mens & Women's Bodybuilding line-up. They learnt a lot from their experience & now know what they need to do to be competitive in the Pro Natural™ line-up. For those who didn't place, I'm sure that they've learned a lot from being on the World stage, and will improve next time they step onto it. There was a great team spirit & we all helped each other out. We also got a chance to enjoy New York together, the shopping was great, the sites are one of a kind & a visit to the WNBF World Headquarters in the Empire State Building was memorable. I have been throwing weights around for the best part of 20 years, all the while looking up to the stars of the sport. 2007 has been a monumentus year for me. As a novice I have realised a dream that I never thought possible. The dream of competing on the world stage and rubbing shoulders with the stars. A dream made real only by the dream of one man Danny Chau, a dream to bring a truly natural federation to Australia. The New York experience is one that I will cherish forever, life long friendships made, great room-mates. The dedication and support from Danny was fantastic as was the support from the ever young Tony Ben. Who would have thought that an individual sport like bodybuilding could be as rewarding as a team sport? Athletes from Australia-wide coming together to support and uplift each other, once strangers now friends. WNBF has my support for life and 2008 will be a fantastic year for the WNBF."
-------------------------------------------------- "My experience in New York with the WNBF Australian Team representing Australia in the Pro Natural™ Figure Division was definately one of the best experiences of my life. For one I have never travelled overseas before and I have never competed at such a high level before and to be in the presence of such professionals. I can't wait to do it all over again next year and hopefully come back as a Pro Natural™ World Champion. The trip was perfectly organised and we have Danny Chau to thank for that so if it wasn't for Danny planning every step of the way it wouldn't be as enjoyable as it was. I have learnt a lot from the trip especially comp prep and that the last 24hrs is the most important and the changes you can make to your body within such a short time frame. I have enjoyed travelling together as a team. It has definately made it worth while and I have come away with lifetime friendships with some of the team members. The highlight of the trip was getting on the formidable WNBF World stage and feeling the adenaline rush and thrill of being there in the best form of my life and being around such champions and professionals. I enjoyed seeing and meeting the President and Chairman of the WNBF (whose office is located in the Empire State Building). To meet them is an honour. I loved the other experiences of the trip including being rapped up in the whole hustle and bustle of the large city and the awesome shopping!! I am just so happy that I have made the choice of being a part of WNBF after all my wonderful and positive experiences and feel extremely proud to be a part of a truly natural federation and competing against other truly natural athletes."
The Golden Angel - Deanne Murphy (WNBF Pro Natural™ Figure) 'mixing it' with the New York locals. --------------------------------------------------- "New York truly was the trip of a lifetime. Travelling with the Australian team was perhaps the biggest highlight of all, even when compared with the thrill of standing on the world stage. I was lucky enough to room with two of Australia’s best pro men, as well as a champion Masters men competitor. Sharing the highs and lows of competing, too much chicken, late night posing practice, disappearing abs post-contest was so much more fun with these guys. From their advice, plus the wise words of Danny Chau and Tony Ben, I learnt so many lessons that will be invaluable when preparing for future competitions. The way the entire team supported each other on the day was inspirational too. The Aussie team definitely took the prize for the most vocal and creative cheer squad! Hearing their voices as I stood on stage made me realise that although we compete individually, bodybuilding at its best becomes a team sport."
--------------------------------------------------- "First time in New York has been such an awsome experience, everywhere your go is so packed with people, especially the subway stations. Shopping has been fantastic, there's so many things that i haven't seen here in Australia. The highlight of this trip would be competing at the formidable WNBF World Championships, sharing the same apartment with other team-mates has been wonderful. I would like to thank Danny Chau in giving me the opportunity to compete as a Pro Naturalâ„¢. He has been such a nice and the most patient guy i've ever met. Not to mention his support, pre-contest tips and most importantly his valuable time. Can't thank him enough."

I'd like to express my congratulations to my Team Muscle & Body Shape athletes and to the WNBF Australian team as a whole - you all did really well to make it so far and achieve so many wins and places against tough competition! Being in New York was also a great experience and the shopping was fantastic. A note to the WNBF Aussie team in 2008: remember to take your gloves and beanies! My athletes and I will definitely be back next year, to take home more first places!"

The quality was unreal, the quantity was great and the support was massive. Judging was excellent. DANNY CHAU'S LEADERSHIP, SUPPORT, AND HIS EXPERIENCE WAS MASSIVE AND INCREDIBLE. A SPECIAL THANKS to Danny's wife Nicky for her support by caring for the children while Danny was spending his time helping us. Many thanks to DANNY CHAU for his relentless efforts in his quest to make sure that a whole year of regional, state and national competitions resulted in a team worthy of representing AUSTRALIA on the formidable WNBF World stage and bring home a dozen trophies. In my vast experience with WORLD comps, I do not recall another team ever returning home with so many awards, which makes me very proud to have been part of the team and having had the privilege to judge this prestigious event and the opportunity of meeting our American colleagues and other International Associates. My sincere congratulations to the entire team and supporters and thank you for the pleasure you have given me in getting better acquainted with all of you.
